Committed to Understanding Canada's Role
The Canada Global South Initiative is a not-for-profit organization focused on Canada’s engagement and relations with the Global South. Our mission is to monitor, evaluate and research Canada’s engagement with the Global South both in terms of public and private sector initiatives.
CGSI is dedicated to understanding the ties between Canada and the Global South with a focus on the effect that these ties have on people in the developing world.
An ORGANISATION WITH A MISSION
Founded in 2022, Canada Global South Initiative inspires action, serves stakeholders and supports communities. CGSI focuses on producing high quality, well-researched, and data-backed analysis of the relationship between Canada and the countries in the Global South. CGSI also specializes in conducting evidence-based analysis, fostering collaboration to understand the economic, environmental, political and social dimensions of Canada-Global South relations and their implications for all those affected.

CGSI is founded on the principals of the importance of transparency and knowledge. CGSI is committed to the belief that Canadians and citizens of the Global South deserve to know how Canada and Canadian entities function and act in the developing world and how their initiatives impact Canadians and those in the Global South.
